Our Team

Tyler Nellissen, MHC-P

Tyler offers in-person appointments in Brooklyn Heights and Video Teletherapy. He is a Psychotherapist dedicated to helping clients connect more deeply with themselves, and develop clarity in how they live their lives. He is particularly passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients seeking to better understand their full identities, boundaries within families, and romantic relationships. He approaches each session with empathy, creativity, and warmth to offer a safe and supportive space. Drawing from psychodynamic and Gestalt theory to focus sessions on the generativity of the present moment, Tyler helps clients empower themselves to face challenges with new perspective and inner strength.

Whether clients are facing emotional challenges, seeking personal growth, or looking to develop better coping strategies, Tyler tailors his approach to meet their unique needs. His commitment to creating an environment of trust and support makes him a compassionate and capable guide on each client’s journey to well-being. Tyler holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY/Brooklyn College, and a B.A. Degree from Northeastern University. He is also a nationally certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter and offers therapy services in ASL and in English.

Bruno Trindade, LCSW

Bruno offers Video Teletherapy to NYC clients. He focuses on helping people work through major life transitions including struggles with depression and anxiety. He works collaboratively and finds that re-framing their struggles as only one part of their identity helps to develop new ways of engaging and relating to the many aspects of oneself. This shift opens a space for compassion, healing, and over time a more integrated sense of self. He also offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Re-Processing), and evidence-based treatment for conditions such as PTSD, Anxiety and Depression.

Bruno brings an eclectic approach to therapy to determine what tools work best for each individual, always grounded in a deeply relational viewpoint. He applies a mixture of somatic elements including mindfulness, visualization, Gestalt therapy, psychodynamics, and Internal Family Systems. Bruno’s perspective is also informed by his practice and teaching of Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art. His experience utilizing his mind and body to move intentionally through challenging maneuvers, always with awareness of the other participants, influences his embodied-relational therapy practice. Bruno holds a Master’s in Social Work from Smith College, and has additional degrees in Comparative Religion and Computer Science.

Licensed in both New York (LMSW) and Massachusetts (LCSW) to practice under the supervision of Jeremy Borer, LCSW.
